Local Arts for Healthy Hearts – Art Auction benefitting American Heart Association Announced by ShinSpin Art Studios
TRITON MUSEUM OF ART – SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA –
ShinSpin Art Studios announces “Local Arts for Healthy Hearts”, a charity art exhibit and auction benefiting the American Heart Association and the fight to educate our local communities about the Nation’s #1 killer, Heart Disease. Shinyung Schwartz, Lead Artist and sole proprietor of ShinSpin Art Studios, confirmed today participation of 29 artists (listed below), who will each donate time and resources to produce 31 unique pieces of artwork in the “Hearts” theme to be exhibited and auctioned to the highest bidder in Silicon Valley, CA.
Over 58 million Americans (i.e. about 1 in 4 persons) suffer from some form of heart disease, and almost 1 out of 2.4 deaths in the USA result from it. Recognizing the widespread impact of this issue, Shinyung Schwartz/ ShinSpin Art Studios recently accepted the challenge to raise funds by holding an American Heart Association ‘FUNraiser’ Art Auction. Today she announces the participation of 29 established and up-and-coming artists who have volunteered to donate new and/ or existing artwork varying in a wide range of artistic styles and mediums. Target sale prices for the artwork range from $200 – $2,000 per piece (of course this being an auction these are simply targets) with proceeds being split by percentages of 40%, 30%, and 30% and distributed to the American Heart Association, Artists, and hosting Gallery respectively.
The exhibit and auction will be open to the general public but a special emphasis is being placed on the support and attendance of Silicon Valley Enterprises, Philanthropists, and Local Business Owners. “This exhibit/ auction is less about the Art and more about the Heart”, says Shinyung Schwartz. While recognizing the benefits and importance of art in our communities, the primary objective of this event is to raise awareness for Heart Disease and funds for the American Heart Association. “While artists sometimes don’t have the means to donate to community causes in a financial way, we can be creative and find other ways to make a difference… Whether financial, time, or other ways, we would like to invite the members of our community to support us in our efforts” adds Shinyung. ShinSpin Art Studios is currently in discussions with several South Bay businesses and enterprises formalizing a variety of sponsorship initiatives which will help in enabling, promoting, and hosting this event. Future press releases are to be announced as sponsors and additional event details are established for this event scheduled for April 23, 2011.
While the auction is not slated until the end of March, ShinSpin Art Studio’s call for action is now. February is National Heart Disease Awareness Month and ShinSpin Art Studios is trying to leverage this as a springboard to generate awareness for this cause and event. A variety of promotion efforts are planned for this event ranging from grassroots efforts to celebrity participation. In addition to supporting this cause by attending and bidding in this auction, anyone can simply make a nominal donation directly to the American Heart Association via the Local Arts for Healthy Heart FUNraiser page: http://honor.americanheart.org/site/TR/FunRaiser/Funraiser?px=2263273&pg=personal&fr_id=1150
